In Vilnius Old Town, in a new, multi-storey building, a young family had a wish to have a home with an idyllic Old Town spirit. This archaic aura was created by using classic materials, such as old clinker bricks, oiled oak planks, linen window blinds and calm tones.
The 55 sq. m. home was divided into the necessary spaces for their daily lives — the kitchen with an island, the living-room with a dining table, the bedroom with a functional wardrobe, the bathroom with a spacious shower cabin and a little seat for relaxation, and even a little utility closet.
The oak planks used for the ceiling of the living-room shatter the myth that dark colours reduce the appearance of space — in this case the space looks even wider because of the effect of a second space.
A box to keep things tidy, which was made from oak planks, helped to hide the collector’s box in the tambour.
This apartment contains no unexpected decisions — every interior element has been chosen to make the owner’s daily life easier.
